Founded in 2009 by Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Highsmith, who were later joined by Ryan Mahoney, Workstead studio is based in the United States and were brought to our attention by a friend. The studio aesthetic is exactly what we like in the area of interiors and design, making an excellent combination between vintage and modern, elegance and functionality, always presenting a warm and human feel. Working in architecture and interior design, lighting, furniture and installations, the trio has developed outstanding projects as the public spaces of the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, the The First Ward salon in Tulsa or a series of projects for private clients. In addition to the interiors, their range of lighting and furniture is equally impressive. While the Orbit lamps collection, inspired by the heavenly world, is especially poetic, Sling seat has a charm that only the great masters such as Børge Mogensen could create. The rest of the collection consists of light industrial inspiration, sideboards in solid wood geometric shape, necklaces and bracelets in metal mesh. We love it!

“Workstead's aim is to design responsible works that create a sense of place for both the objects they contain and the people that experience them. Our palette is strong and rich, yet simple and efficient.”
