The Standard

Created by the co-founder of Noma, Claus Meyer, and by the famous jazz musician Niels Lan Doky, The Standard is an unique place in Copenhagen, where food, music and architecture meet in an exemplary way. Installed in beautiful Art Deco building from 1937, designed by architect Kristoffer Nyrop Porter, The Standard (and its jazz club) is not only a tribute to the golden age of timeless “standards” composed by George Gershwin, Cole Porter and the likes, but also a homage to the best contemporary cuisine through its three restaurants, one of which (Studio) with Noma's former chef Torsten Vildgard at the helm.
Besides the logos being designed by the original architect's great grandson, Søren Varming, The Standard founders called GamFratesi designer duo to do the interiors and maintain the bulding's charm, possible through the respect for the original structure and the introduction of timeless materials and pieces, like the Beetle chair, Gubi's classic lighting and Haiku sofa from Fredericia. A must visit!
