When we traveled to Porto for Cabana's pop-up at Velo Culture, one of the things that caught our attention in our friends store was Soigneur magazine, international edition. Although we follow the website of the Dutch magazine for a long time, the printed publication now reached a new dimension being published in English. Betting on a general vision of cycling in general, the first international edition celebrates this wonderful sport in an exemplary manner, with photographic and quality written content, including interviews with professional cyclists as Marianne Vos and Laurens ten Dam, the relationship of Netherlands with the bicycle, the Tour de France and the Qinghai Lake in China, cyclocross racing, the sprinters, Italy and cycling, the reality of this sport in Rwanda, among many other topics. A must read!
“Soigneur was born in the Netherlands in 2012, when we set out to create an independent magazine celebrating cycling culture. The Dutch-language editions we’ve produced since have paid homage to the breadth of the sport, all over the world, both in writing and with photographs. Although a few English articles have appeared in our pages in the past, we now feel it is time to share our love for cycling — and print — with the world. Soigneur 00 brings together some of the finest stories, reportages, and photo-essays from our previous 14 editions. You’ll find tales of the past and of the present, of pros and of amateurs, of local heroes and of faraway places. Tales of suffering and of bliss. For the love of cycling.”
