I still remember when i interviewed José Carvalho Araújo some years ago for Essential Lisboa, the architect telling that he had a magnificent project in hands for textile industrialist Celso de Lemos. At that time, he commented that it would be a hotel related with wine, located in a beautiful hillside in the Dão region, and now, with the project completed, i can understand Carvalho Araújo's enthusiasm. Integrated in Quinta de Lemos, at Silgueiros, the hotel is an elongated structure, overlooking the vineyard. Reflecting the taste of the architect for the natural materials and to take advantage of each place's features, the hotel assumes an unique connection with the exterior through a rock that bursts into the interior. Besides the simplicity of the common areas, with exposed concrete, the hotel assumes a more cosy look in the bedrooms, with a touch of dark wood and quality textiles by Celso de Lemos brands. A must visit!
