After two hours trip from Lisbon, the last sign to get to Paraíso Escondido (Hidden Paradise) was Barranco do Inferno (Hell’s Ridge), which could not be more ironic. Born from the desire of Berny Serrão, and her husband Glenn, of creating a retreat for her family and offer a more serene lifestyle to her daughter after years living in London and Singapore, Paraíso Escondido is like all dreams, better when it's shared. This willingness to share this magnificent location, atop a hill near the Alentejo coast, the guest house offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature in its purest form, relax and return to the roots. While the main building, with a typical local architecture, houses the guest rooms and common spaces, the modern structure serves as the residence of the owners, a place for workshops and spa. Besides enjoying the panoramic pool, watch the magnificent sunrise or stroll through the surrounding eucalyptus forest, Paraíso Escondido is also a great place to enjoy the best of local produce - such as fish, cheese, jam and bread - including some from the small organic garden existing on the property. Despite the excellent location of Paraíso Escondido, what really makes the difference is the hospitality of Berny and Glenn, their constant attention to guests and concern about the small details. We strongly recommend a visit to Paraíso Escondido, a perfect place to enjoy on its own or being the starting point to explore this beautiful region of Alentejo.
“We believe that Paraiso Escondido offers a gentle, relaxing and enriching experience to return home with. Our inspiration and driving passion is to provide our guests with magical memories that will linger for ever”.
