Celebrating the remarkable breadth of British creativity during the 20th century, Sotheby's will held on April 1st Made in Britain sale with works by some of Britain's best-known artists, as well as photography, studio ceramics and furniture of the period. The sale demonstrate the links between these disciplines and illustrate the very significant, and often overlooked, role that Britain played in the development of modernism internationally. Wanting to introduce these influent artists and craftsman to a new generation of collectors, Made in Britain presents beautiful works such as 'Brothers' photograph (1951) by Ruth Orkin, 'The French Shop' etching (1971) by David Hockney, 'Fragment 2' screenprint (1965) by Bridget Riley, 'Diamond' bronze sculpture (1970) by Lynn Chadwick, ceramics by Lucie Rie, 'Neptune' chaise (1953) by Ernest Race or the 'Chthonic Box' (1976) by Joe Tilson.
