It is always with great pride that we write about De La Espada, as a furniture brand with an international dimension with a Portuguese heart. As always, the brand with a factory in Portugal showed their latest novelties in an exemplary manner, this time through a brilliant photo shoot at Casa da Escrita in Coimbra, rehabilitated in 2010 by architect João Mendes Ribeiro. Taking advantage of the soul, materiality, natural light and architecture of this historic place, De La Espada presented all its collections individually through the eyes of talented Japanese photographer Yuki Sugiura. Located near the De La Espada factory, Casa da Escrita was the perfect setting - because of its timelessness and for sharing the simplicity and quality of materials with De La Espada - for the beautiful pieces designed by Neri & Hu, Luca Nichetto, Matthew Hilton, Ilse Crawford and Autoban. From the geometric Shaker range by Neri & Hu in American walnut, the revivalist Harold desk and the elegant Stanley sofa by Nichetto, the art deco inspired Union by Autoban duo, De La Espada showed once again that its focus on developing brands with international designers, the focus on quality materials and the Portuguese craftsmen experience was undoubtedly the way to success.
