Up in the Air Somewhere

Susan Dwyer, an artist and designer based in Chicago, is the creator of Up in the Air Somewhere, a magnificent collection of ceramic and papier-mâché pieces. Using colour in a brilliant manner and giving special attention to the pieces texture, Dwyer was inpired by the "clean, minimal lines found in industrial architecture" to transform the "silos, warehouses and watertowers that dot the Chicago landscape" into elegant vases and decorative objects, like the ceramic jugs and cups or the delicate papier-mâché bowls.
