Monkey's Paw

At first sight it might look like the usual second-hand bookshop, but Monkey's Paw is much more than that, it's a fascinating place, where you can find some the most rare and uncommon books from last century. Founded by Stephen Fowler, the Toronto based bookshop, brilliantly shown by T Magazine, is not only the demonstration of the owner's taste for "old and unusual" books, with a "special emphasis on visual culture, obsolete opinions and technologies, lesser-known works on highly specific topics, books as objects and pop detritus", but is also a breath of fresh air in this field, a great remimber of what takes to purchase a book. Besides having a vending machine, in which you can buy random literary works for C$2, the shop is a box of surprises, a place where you'll find the book you didn't know you were looking for! photos by T Magazine and Monkey's Paw
