Best of Portugal: Style

Inspired by the Spanish Tourist Office initiative developed with Monocle magazine in the last months and motivated by the lack of promotion of the best brands and places by the Portuguese Tourist Office, O Editorial will publish in the following weeks 50 of its favourite things in Portugal, from architecture and design to culture and style. In the seventh part of Best of Portugal series, the focus will be on the best garment and accessories brands:

Paulino Spectacles - Inspired by the family heritage related to optical products since the thirties, Ramiro Paulino Pereira founded Paulino Spectacles with the aim of recreating icons of the past. Handmade with Mazzucchelli acetate, the glasses stand out for its sturdiness, timeless design and attention to detail.

Anve - Result of the collaboration between Kerstin Greve, founder of Lisbon based brand Anve, and portuguese designer Nuno Matos, Envelope collection has the perfect accessories to carry your business cards. Made by local artisans in limited editions, the envelopes match quality leather with a great colour pallet.

Ideal & Co - Founded by Rute Vieira and José Lima, Ideal & Co has the motto 'some things stay witth you forever' and it couldn't be more right. Carefully developed by experienced artisans from Aire and Candeeiros mountains, the collection consists in backpacks, bags and bicycle accessories, made with canvas and 100% vegetal tanned leather.

La Paz - Getting inspiration from the style of sailors and fishermen, La Paz takes the long portuguese maritime tradition to a collection full of pieces that match tradition and contemporary design, quality details and materials, as seen in Ferreira jacket, Abreu cardigan, Silva t-shirt or Mota boots.

Luvaria Ulisses - Created in 1925 by Joaquim Rodrigues Simões, Ulisses is an inevetable reference of lisboan style. With a small shop in Rua do Carmo and the workshop nearby, the delicate gloves are produced with the best leather by highly skilled artisans, presenting classic and sportswear models.
